Undergraduate Program for Biology
Here is the Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) overview for the Bachelor of Biology program, articulated in a formal and scientific academic register:
The curriculum of the Bachelor of Biology program at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University is designed to produce graduates who possess a comprehensive integration of biological proficiency, analytical rigor, and national defense values. The following nine Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) outline the core competencies achieved by our graduates:
- PLO-1 (Professionalism & Ethical Integrity): Demonstrate noble character, discipline, adaptability, and collaborative spirit, while maintaining critical and scientific thinking in addressing biological and defense-related issues as lifelong learners.
- PLO-2 (Biological Foundation & Defense Context): Analyze and integrate fundamental concepts—ranging from molecular and cellular biology to ecology, evolution, and biotechnology—to interpret complex biological phenomena within the context of national defense.
- PLO-3 (Scientific Problem Solving): Identify, analyze, and resolve challenges in food security, bioenergy, public health, environmental sustainability, and biosecurity, including operational readiness in military scenarios and biological threat mitigation.
- PLO-4 (Data Analysis & Strategic Information): Manage and interpret biological data using advanced biostatistics, bioinformatics, and computational biology methodologies to generate strategic insights relevant to national defense requirements.
- PLO-5 (Multidisciplinary Collaboration): Adapt and operate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in both military and civilian environments to address issues regarding food, bioenergy, health, and environmental safety.
- PLO-6 (Communication & Policy Advocacy): Communicate complex analytical findings, research results, and policy recommendations in defense biology effectively to military leadership, government officials, and the general public, adhering to strict scientific and ethical standards.
- PLO-7 (Research & Technical Execution): Formulate creative ideas and execute biological research projects—from experimental design and field or laboratory data collection to rigorous reporting—compliant with both academic standards and military procedures.
- PLO-8 (Applied Innovation): Apply biological principles to develop products or systems that bolster military health, food and energy security, biohazard mitigation, environmental bioremediation, and the management of strategic bioresources.
- PLO-9 (Monodisciplinary Proficiency): Demonstrate specialized competency in solving biological problems through the precise application of domain-specific knowledge, methodologies, and relevant biotechnological tools.
