Admission

All information regarding the new student admission process for the undergraduate programs at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University (Universitas Pertahanan RI) is integrated into our official portal: https://penerimaan.idu.ac.id/

General Requirements

Applicants must meet the following general requirements:

• Nationality: Must be an Indonesian Citizen (WNI).
• Compliance: Committed to adhering to all regulations established by the Republic of Indonesia Defense University.
• Health: Physically and mentally fit; must not be colorblind.
• Educational Background:
  • Graduates (2025 or 2026) of High School (SMA) majoring in Science (IPA) or Vocational School (SMK) in fields relevant to the study program.
  • (Note: SMA graduates of both Science/Social streams are eligible for the Military History program).
• Academic Record:
  • Must have never repeated a grade during high school/vocational school.
  • Minimum average report card grade of 80 (semesters I to V). Priority is given to students ranked in the top 10 in semester V.
  • For Vocational (SMK) students: Minimum average grade of 80 for subjects relevant to the study program based on the "SMK Pusat Keunggulan" curriculum structure (semesters I to V).
• Cognitive Ability: Minimum IQ of 120 (assessment conducted by the committee via an accredited institution, free of charge).
• Age: Maximum 20 years old at the commencement of education (September 1, 2026).
• Physical Standards: Minimum height of 163 cm for males and 157 cm for females; must have a proportional weight substantiated by a medical certificate from a Government, TNI, or Polri hospital, signed by a physician.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in computer operation (internet applications and Microsoft Office).
• Commitment:
  • Willing to sign a Cadet Student agreement regarding the rights and obligations at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University.
  • Willing to sign declarations stating:
    • Commitment to becoming a State Defense Intellectual Cadet and a Reserve Component member.
    • Commitment to remain unmarried and not become pregnant during the period of education.
    • Not currently receiving, and will not receive, other scholarships during the period of education.
  • Must provide a parental/guardian consent letter.
  • Willing to reside in the provided dormitory throughout the period of education.
• Equivalency: International school graduates or graduates from overseas high schools must provide academic equivalency documents from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
• Marital Status: Must be unmarried (legally, religiously, or customarily) and have no biological children.
• Dedication: Possess a high spirit of patriotism and state defense; candidates who withdraw after being accepted and commencing education are required to reimburse the state for admission and operational training costs.

Specific Requirements for S-1 Biology Study Program

In addition to the general requirements, applicants for the Undergraduate Study Program in Biology must meet the following academic criteria:

• Academic Prerequisites: A minimum grade of 90 (Knowledge component) for both Biology and Mathematics in the semester V report card.
